Intent of the process

The intent is to staff one indeterminate position based in Winnipeg. This process may be used for various tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments, casual). It may also be used to staff positions with various security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment. The pool of qualified candidates may also be shared and accessed by other federal government departments.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
• Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Notes:
1. Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor’s degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
2. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of senior official, public and internal events
• Experience in researching and writing a variety of communications products (for example, speaking points for senior officials, and/or news releases, and/or media lines, and/or media scans, and/or feature articles, and/or material for web and social media) in a deadline driven environment.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and diverse communities.
• Experience in developing communications plans and strategies in support of departmental priorities and initiatives.
