WHAT IS AN INVENTORY?

By applying today you are not applying for one job, but many! Applying to this inventory will allow you to be considered for different positions within lands, waters and resource management at CIRNAC in Nunavut, starting with a 7 month classroom learning program in Iqaluit with Royal Roads University, followed by 9 months of on-the-job training.

In the application we will ask you to select which of the below areas of work you are interested in. Responding “No” to one of these questions will NOT eliminate you from consideration. It will help us match you with a suitable opportunity.

There are several positions at entry-level, supervisory, and management roles in the following areas:
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & REGULATORY OPERATIONS:
Land administration, inspection and enforcement, field work, mineral rights administration, environmental impact assessment, water management, geology, socio-economic research, and policy.

CORPORATE SERVICES:
Office administration, finance, budgeting, asset management, information management and information technology (IT support and services), communications, policy and program delivery.

Intent of the process

This is a recruitment inventory matching Nunavut Inuit with job opportunities at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC). Applicants should be aware that the position they are applying for may potentially transfer from the Government of Canada to the Government of Nunavut on April 1, 2027. This transfer will take place as part of the Nunavut Lands and Resources Devolution Agreement which will provide Nunavut with greater governance responsibilities and fulfill a longstanding commitment to self-determination. While the details of the transfer of positions are still being finalized, we want to ensure transparency and provide candidates with this information. Rest assured; we are committed to keeping applicants informed as we progress toward implementation of the Agreement.
