Duties

• Organize and provide administrative services in Townsites and Realty.
• Complete administrative documentation/requests and apply Agency and central agency administrative policies, directives and procedures.
• Attend and document governance meetings, compose summary documents, summarize information from various sources.
• Compose administrative memos and correspondence; input/format documents, reports, tables and presentations; provide quality control services; and review documents, reports and correspondence.
• Analyze operational requirements; evaluate and propose solutions to deal with administrative issues and requirements; and propose modifications to internal administrative procedures and practices.

Intent of the process

The results of this process will be used to fill a term vacancy and may be used in the future to fill permanent or temporary vacancies that may arise at the Administrative Services Officer I (AS 01) group and level, in the same, or other, areas within the Parks Canada Agency with full or part-time hours for various tenures, such as: Indeterminate, Term, Acting Assignment or Assignment at level, depending on status of the selected candidate.

EDUCATION
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience in a field relevant to the position being staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Recent* experience in providing administrative support services in an office environment including activities such as creating and maintaining electronic and paper files, scheduling, preparing and revising routine reports, financial tracking and entry, correspondence and responding to request for information
• Experience providing client service in a front-line setting, representing the authority having jurisdiction
• Experience working in a fast-paced office environment

* Recent experience is defined as normally acquired within approximately the past two (2) years. Please indicate when and for how long you acquired your experience.

• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays
• Willingness to travel throughout the Lake Louise, Yoho & Kootenay Field Unit and in various weather conditions

Conditions of employment

• Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 driver’s licence*** or provincial equivalent.

***A non-learner graduated driver’s licence might be considered.
