Duties

The Janitorial (Facilities Attendant) Teams provide cleaning and sanitation services in Parks Canada Agency buildings and day use area facilities including offices building; visitor facilities such as reception centres, washrooms and privies; overnight visitor accommodations and staff accommodations.
In the course of their duties, employees will drive to sites located throughout the parks (along the TransCanada Route though Lake Louise area, Yoho National Park)
Janitors will perform minor maintenance tasks, grounds keeping duties such as litter picking and raking in day use areas in the summer.
Other tasks include lifting up to 50lbs, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting; snow removal, removing garbage and recycling, seasonal deep cleaning of facilities and vehicles.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and personal protective equipment
• Willingness to work in variable weather conditions
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs

Conditions of employment

• Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
