Intent of the process

The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) one position.

Please be advised this position cannot accommodate remote work. All duties required within this position is to be completed in-person in Terrace, BC. Candidates should only apply if they are willing and available to work in this location.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff future similar permanent and/or temporary positions at full, part-time or shift-work hours in various locations. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Education:
EED: Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EE1: Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word
EE2: Experience providing assistance to the general public in person and by telephone
EE3: Recent* experience in performing general administrative support duties such as processing mail, filing, and ordering supplies
EE4: Recent* experience using general office equipment such as photocopier and multi-line phone system

NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Candidates must meet the conditions of employment and continue to meet these same conditions during their employment.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
