Duties

The Storeperson II provides material management and supply services, including ordering and purchasing stock, controlling and maintaining an inventory control system and records, as well as planning and maintaining a warehouse or storage area.

Intent of the process

This process could be used to create a list of qualified candidates to fill similar positions with different employee statuses, security levels, or language requirements, in the same location or elsewhere in the country.

EDUCATION
- High school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in coordinating the maintenance of a fleet of vehicles or various equipment.

- Experience in maintaining inventory records in a warehouse setting.

- Experience in using a computerized inventory management system.

KEY ABILITIES
- Ability to coordinate the maintenance of a fleet of vehicles and motorized equipment.

- Ability to manage various stages of merchandise handling such as purchasing, receiving, shipping, warehousing, packaging, and/or handling.

- Ability to plan, organize, and set priorities in the short, medium, and long term

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. (Your application may be used to assess written communication skills.)

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (ASSETS)
- Experience in managing (e.g., producing monthly reports, reconciling and matching supporting documents, etc.) an employer-owned credit card.

- Experience in material management (e.g., acquisition, lifecycle management, disposal, etc.).

- Experience in using the SAP computerized system.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.

- Agree to wear a Parks Canada uniform, in accordance with Parks Canada's uniform policy.
- Agree to lift and carry a load of at least 9 kg (approximately 25 lbs) over short distances.
