HOW TO APPLY?
You must provide concrete and detailed examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE requirements listed in the essential qualifications section. The screening board cannot make any assumptions about your experience. It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current duties. Your answers may also be used to assess your ability to communicate effectively in writing. Your resume will be used as a secondary source of information to validate your experience. APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE THAT THE CANDIDATE MEETS THE SCREENING CRITERIA WILL NOT BE GIVEN FURTHER CONSIDERATION.
Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
The Asset Qualifications contained in the Statement of Merit Criteria may be used as a screening/assessment tool. A candidate may be appointed to a position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
In December 2022, the Treasury Board Secretariat adopted a hybrid work model for public service employees. Since the introduction of this work model, the Direction on the prescribed presence in the workplace has been revised. Effective September 9, 2024, this position requires the incumbent to work in the office at least 3 days per week as stipulated in the incumbent's telework agreement. The Direction further indicates that some employees may be granted an exception to work remotely full-time based on specific criteria. Such exception must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and approved by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The reason for the exception would be detailed in the incumbent telework agreement. Please note that a telework agreement may be cancelled or amended at any time by either party (the supervisor or the employee) if operational needs or governmental policies change.
