The Water/Wastewater Plant/Facility Manager manages a water and wastewater program, facilities and services including collection, treatment, distribution, and disposal; manages associated systems and infrastructure maintenance; delivers technical and operational advice and consultative services. Plants/facilities/systems managed are level 1 & 2 wastewater and level 2 water at Riding Mountain National Park.
Other duties/ responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
• Managing and Supervising all aspects of water/wastewater operations, including maintenance and repair;
• Managing repair and maintenance of plumbing systems and components within a variety of assets;
• Leading data monitoring and analysis/interpretation, technical inspections, equipment and instrumentation calibrations and adjustments, and corrective measures;
• Consulting on/discussing technical plans and strategies for corrective actions;
• Preparing reports, inputs for annual operating and capital plans and budgets; developing work plans and operational schedules;
• Responding to client/stakeholder enquiries/complaints and advising on operations and activities (e.g. service interruptions);
• Overseeing project work and contracted services;
• Developing/modifying standard operating procedures for water/wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
Riding Mountain National Park is located in Treaty 2 Territory, the Anishinabe homelands, where we work with the Coalition of First Nations with interests in Riding Mountain National Park to foster positive and collaborative relationships. Riding Mountain National Park is located approximately 3.5 hours northwest of Winnipeg. Protecting 3,000 square kilometers of wilderness.

🎓 EDUCATION:

Provincial operator certification in the following classifications:
• Level 2 water treatment
• Level 2 water distribution
• Level 1 wastewater treatment
• Level 2 wastewater collection
💼 EXPERIENCE:

➧ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, including responsibilities such as: supervision of staff, preparation and presentation of reports and plans (such as financial budgets, work schedules, performance management etc.).
➧ Experience managing, operating and maintaining Class II or higher systems and facilities, including water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection.
➧ Experience in managing the implementation of small to medium-sized projects including managing contracts, monitoring, reporting and performance evaluation.
➧ Experience working with computer software and programs such as SCADA, excel, word and email.
