A Gas Technician installs, inspects, repairs, and removes natural gas or propane appliances and their parts. Duties include working with pipes, vents, water lines, and electrical wiring connected to these appliances, maintaining and replacing mechanical and electrical parts, handling gas-side components of cooling units, and servicing flues shared with oil appliances. The role also includes mentoring apprentices, completing reports and paperwork, and working with various equipment like boilers, furnaces, infrared heaters, hot water tanks, air handlers, NG steam humidifiers, NG dehumidifiers and generator piping.

COE5. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.

May include but not limited to wearing Personal Protective Equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, reading, writing, colour determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
COE7. Willingness to travel to undertake training as required.
COE8. Willingness to be on a standby or a call-in list and asked to respond after hours in accordance with the collective agreement.
COE9. Willingness to work overtime including weekends
