POSITION LOCATION / WORK ARRANGEMENT:
The designated worksite for this position is the Toronto, Ontario OSFI Office. However, the employee may work from the Toronto or Ottawa office.

OSFI’s hybrid model includes telework and mandatory onsite presence. Duties

The RE-05 Senior Analyst (Data Quality) will play an important role in the data quality team. This position will provide data quality support on key datasets to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting of data. Leveraging a mix of data engineering and data analytics and data visualization skills, and in collaboration with stakeholders across the enterprise and external partners and financial institutions, the RE-05 Senior Analyst (Data Quality) will:

• Conduct analytics and develop and maintain data quality tools and processes including developing dashboards, reports, analytics, business intelligence (BI) solutions and implement methodologies and data quality validation rules.
• Conduct data cleansing and data profiling to standardize data fields, identify anomalies, inconsistencies and errors in the data.
• Identifies opportunities to enhance data quality reporting and tools.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to discuss data quality findings and perform root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
• Implement data validation rules and checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency including cross validation of returns.
• Continuous active monitoring of data quality metrics and trends to identify issues in real-time.
• Communicate data issues to financial institutions and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree OR diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in business, commerce, economics, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, computer science, engineering or other relevant field.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent* and significant** experience accessing and analysing large scale data.
• Recent* and significant** experience programming with scripting language such as PySpark, Python or SQL for data preparation, data cleansing and data analysis.
• Recent* and significant** experience developing and deploying dashboards using modern BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience*** investigating data issues or performing data analytics, analyzing options and making recommendations to stakeholders.
• Experience***in the financial services industry **** in one or more of the following key areas: Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Internal Audit, External Audit (includes experience in assessing risk and control effectiveness), Commercial and/or Retail Credit, Underwriting, Analysis of Profitability, Control Effectiveness and Financial Results, Strategic Planning, Mergers and acquisitions, Data Analytics OR Experience*** in Data Analytics on loan portfolios of financially regulated institutions to support supervisory and monitoring activities.
