Duties

Duties may include:
• Installs, inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, operates and maintains systems and equipment
• Provides preventative maintenance and repairs, including ordering replacement parts and materials
• Initiates and responds to urgent facility operational problems and environmental conditions, complaints with appropriate corrective action as authorized.
• Attends on-site briefings and inspections
• Produces reports and recommendations on activities, equipment and persons in the work place.
• Disposes of contaminated waste and operates energy management and environmental control systems.
• Orders supplies using an acquisition card, inputs work order information
and tracks work orders using a computer. Uses a vehicle.
• Interprets and applies data from blue prints, drawings and specifications as required and
estimates labour and materials required to complete repair, installation and maintenance

COE1. Possession of a valid and unrestricted Provincial/Territorial Driver’s Licence.
COE2. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Military DND 404 driving permit.

COE3. Possession of a valid provincial/territorial, or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate, or QL5+ qualification in one or more of the following: Plumbing, Steamfitting/Pipefitting, Welding, Carpentry, Painting, Masonry, Electrical, Powerline Technician, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Millwright.

COE4. Must be able and willing to work at heights from ladders and scaffolding.
COE5. Must be able and willing to work overtime and standby rotation.
COE6. Must be able and willing to work in extreme weather conditions.
COE7. Must be able and willing to work in confined spaces
COE8. Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
