The job of a User Experience (UX) Designer is to advocate for the user, and provide guidance for the content, organization, and navigation of systems designed for Veterans, staff, and providers.
A UX Designer conducts research using various methods. Using outcomes from their research, they approach the design process from the users’ perspective. A prototype is created to test the design solution and validate that the idea works well for the overall user experience.
Usability tests are conducted to test prototypes and designs with the users to confirm they work as intended. Testing is a crucial step in the development process as it shows us what real users think, feel, and like about our designs, as well as how easy they are to use.
The UX Designer represents the user throughout the delivery process by actively interacting with stakeholders to identify their needs, gather information, solicit feedback, and ensure systems development creates value for stakeholders; They meet frequently to update team members on the progress of their work, by demonstrating design concepts and prototypes.
