Isolated Post Allowance for Iqaluit, NU, which is based on if the employee has dependents or is occupying Government housing.

Vacation Travel Assistance will be provided for each eligible member of the household and represents 2 trips per year.

Intent of the process

The intent is to staff various administrative support positions in the RCMP office in Iqaluit with applicants self-identifying as Inuk under the Nunavut Agreement (i.e. beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement).

A pool of qualified candidates will be identified and may be used to staff various CR-04 positions, or equivalent, with employment tenures, language and security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the position being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school (high school) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience providing administrative support services

Experience working in a Northern environment, particularly in Indigenous communities

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

English essential

Communication

Ability to speak Inuktitut

Persons self-identifying as Nunavut Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement may be selected for appointment to fulfill organizational needs.

Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required

Conditions of employment

Various levels of security clearance from RCMP Enhanced Reliability to RCMP Top Secret

Some positions may require an ability and willingness to travel

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
