The Park Interpreter leads guided programs and activities, facilitating opportunities for visitors to meaningfully connect with the park and its natural and cultural stories. These visitor experiences help to deepen understanding, broaden perspectives, and inspire engagement.
In this role, you will:
• Present meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable interpretation programs and activities to help connect the hearts and minds of visitors to the park.
• Adapt interpretive technique and content to suit the needs of specific visitor groups and individuals.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve programs and services.
• Greet and orient visitors; offer wayfinding information, public safety and interpretive messages.
Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park are located at the tip of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. The two parks are known for the rugged shoreline scenery, turquoise water, historic shipwrecks, and incredible natural diversity. Located just a few hours’ drive from the Greater Toronto Area, the parks welcome approximately 750,000 visitors per year coming for inspiration, recreation, and connection with nature.
The Park Interpreter will be a part of the 5-person Interpretation team, within the larger Visitor Experience department made up of 50+ employees during peak season.
This position is based out of the Parks Canada Visitor Centre in Tobermory. Hours are varied and include evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Stand, walk, hike for prolonged periods
• May be required to handle wildlife and/or captive educational animals
• Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation
• Possession or willingness to obtain a valid First Aid and CPR (level C and AED)
Reliability Status security clearance - Possession of a valid class G or G2 driver’s licence
