The Project Assistant will work alongside a team of project managers and needs to be comfortable juggling multiple priorities at once. Our team is responsible for sourcing and implementing improvement opportunities including new technologies and equipment; Therefore, the ideal candidate will be someone confident with multiple computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio etc., but also adaptable to learning new software on the fly. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Participating in the execution of various components of projects (such as drafting project requirements, planning and risk assessing) involving the analysis of policies, procedures, work activities, as well as the application and adaptation of methodologies, practices and models to work situations
• Conducts research, identifies issues related to the project mandate, undertakes preliminary analyses and reviews relevant materials. Determines the urgency, priority and relevance of documentation and advises project leader of inconsistencies, incongruities and possible implications of changes made to project plan items.
• Develops and maintains tools and project planning documents, as well as tracks, organizes and consolidates information in accordance with project requirements, for project team members, and prepare status reports.
The Federal Policing Northwest Regional Commander’s Office supports policing operations by ensuring that the region is strategically aligned, has access to the proper tools, and is intelligence-led in its service of public safety in the provinces and territories it encompasses (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut). The office provides oversight to numerous operational units, including the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team, Serious and Organized Crime, Cyber Crime & Financial Crime, Federal Policing Support Services and Intelligence.
This process will initially be used to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Edmonton, AB, one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Calgary, AB, and one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Winnipeg, MB. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various tenures within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance
Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
