Working supervisor of a team up to six workers responsible for cleaning and basic maintenance of park facilities. Supervising includes scheduling, leave approval, workflow, assigning tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed, monitoring quality standards and performing feedback to team members.
Organize, prepare and conduct semi-skilled and general maintenance and repair to maintain facilities, structures, equipment, machinery, infrastructure, utilities, and other assets.
Bruce Peninsula National Park (BPNP) and Fathom Five National Marine Park (FFNMP) are located at the tip of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. The parks are known for their rugged shoreline scenery, turquoise water, unique rock formations, historic shipwrecks and high natural diversity. Located a few hours drive from the Greater Toronto Area, the parks welcome over 750,000 visitors each year, who come for inspiration, recreation and to connect with nature.
The Park Maintenance (Asset) Team is based out of the Cyprus Lake area of the national park and includes a talented crew who work as part of the broader park team with over 100 employees during the peak summer season.

Successful completion of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Building construction/maintenance (e.g. new construction, renovations, repairs).
• General maintenance or cleaning (e.g. trails, landscaping, grounds, facilities)
• Operation and maintenance of grounds machinery and tools
• Working in a team environment or supervising staff
• Using computers and programs (examples include Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Wear a Parks Canada uniform
• Work weekends, shift work and irregular hours as required, with advance notice.
• Use appropriate safety equipment and protective equipment at all times.
• Perform heavy lifting as well as working in cramped and awkward positions on occasion.
• Successfully complete safety courses and training, as required (eg: Standard First Aid, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, Cana Labour Code training, etc.)
• Travel/work in a variety of weather conditions and terrain.
Reliability Status security clearance - Possession of a valid class G driver’s licence
