Duties

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director of the Regulatory Policy Team or the Research and Innovation Team, students will be responsible for providing analysis on regulatory policy improvement and development initiatives. Under the guidance of senior level analysts, students will conduct research on all areas of the CER’s regulatory framework, gathering and analyzing data and information from multiple sources. With this information, students may produce products for external audiences and reports for internal executives. Students will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and are expected to contribute to a professional and positive team environment.

Intent of the process

Process Intent: Qualified candidates may be used to staff other similar positions at an equivalent or lower level on a term, indeterminate or acting basis. Appointment of qualified candidates will be based on the assessment results of the essential or essential and asset qualifications and with regard to breadth and depth of experience.

Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor (at least in the third year of study or higher) or Master’s degree program related to the duties of the position at a recognized Canadian University or College diploma at a recognized Canadian college.

Experience:

E1: Experience, based on academic training (such as completion of a self-directed project), paid work, or volunteer experience in one or more of the following:

1. Researching and summarizing information on specific topics from a wide range of sources; and
2. Using a wide variety of computer software applications to track and organize data, and prepare reports and presentations;

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
