The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

TECHNICAL SERVICES

The Technical Services, Prairie Region, of Correctional Service Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment whose mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio of more than $ 8 billion dollars in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The facilities we manage are varied, such as buildings and structures, building systems, infrastructure for utilities such as water, electricity and sewer, oil reservoirs, thermal power plants, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and vehicles.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience analyzing and interpreting technical documents related to building construction (i.e., shop drawings, specifications, sketches, blueprints, etc.)
• Experience writing scope of work or terms of reference related to construction projects.
• Significant** experience planning, managing, and monitoring building construction projects and/or contracts.

** Significant experience is defined as a minimum of 1 year within the last 3 years.

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in architecture or mechanical, electrical, civil, or geotechnical engineering.
• Eligibility for, or in receipt of, certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
• Certified technician or engineering technologist in a Canadian province association.
• Professional certification “Project Management Professional (PMP)” obtained from the Project Management Institute (PMI), or other professional designation related to project management issued by a recognized institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience using computer-aided drafting and design software (example: AutoCAD).
• Experience in providing technical advice and support to develop project proposals.
• Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience working in a correctional environment
