🌟 This is your opportunity to make a difference!
The Canadian Space Agency is looking for Operations Engineers to be part of the Exploration Ground Infrastructure team.
Since 2001 and continuing into the future, Canada’s exciting missions to the International Space Station include the Canadarm2, Dextre, and scientific and health research experiments. In addition, Canada is contributing Canadarm3 for the Gateway Lunar Space Station.
For the Canadian elements, CSA’s modern facilities in Longueuil, Quebec, are front and center to support these exploration endeavors in collaboration with international partner space agencies as well as a number of contractors.
CSA’s ground infrastructure primarily includes Robotics Mission Control Centre, Robotics Training Centre, and Payloads Telescience Operations Centre. Each of these facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software that permit operators and engineers to monitor, command, assess Canada’s systems that operate in space and for science experiments that are conducted in space. In addition, the Training Centre consists of high-fidelity robotics simulator and immersive technologies, as well as a multi-media classroom, that are used to train astronauts, flight controllers, and engineers to be ready to operate and support Canada’s systems in space.
The incumbent will be part of the Exploration Ground Infrastructure team that is responsible to implement and maintain these ground facilities.
The Canadian Space Agency is looking for Operations Engineers to be part of the Satellite Operations team.
🛰 ABOUT RADARSAT+🛰📡:
The Government of Canada recently allocated $1.012 billion to the Canadian Space Agency to support immediate and future satellite Earth observation (EO) data needs.
This investment of $1.012 billion will allow Canada to design and build a replacement satellite for the RCM while working to define a fourth-generation national sovereign satellite system.
Access to unique high-quality Earth observation (EO) data is key to making science-based decisions on many matters, such as climate change and adaptation.
Satellite EO data is used to understand, monitor and protect our planet, particularly to assess the impacts of climate change, helping us adapt and build resilience in vulnerable areas such as Canada’s North.
The Canadian Space Agency is working to meet Canada’s increasing need for satellite EO data in collaboration with other federal government departments, industry, and international partners.
More than 40 services from several federal departments and private enterprises rely on Canadian satellite EO data. The RADARSAT+ solution will ensure that the data enabling these critical services to Canadians continues to be provided beyond the RCM’s design life.
RADARSAT+ needs motivated, hard-working people to join our team. We foster an inclusive team dynamic where we encourage each other to ask the tough questions, share insights and build on each others ideas and strengths.
Note: Additional opportunities may become available as the RADARSAT+ program progresses.
The intention of this selection process is to staff several Operations Engineer (Exploration Ground Infrastructure and Spacecraft Operations) positions on an indeterminate basis in the Space Exploration and Space Utilization sectors of the Canadian Space Agency.
