This position supports the planning, development, implementation or assessment of FedNor programs, services and initiatives to enhance economic development activities for Northern Ontario stakeholders, including communities, indigenous groups, not-for-profit organizations and small and medium sized businesses.
The role involves leading or supporting the development of program policies and the design of tools, templates and resources such as application forms and guides, program guidelines, issues notes, assessment tools, Contribution Agreements, etc. Additionally, the position includes drafting and/or coordinating briefings, reports, correspondence and related materials in support of policy, program, and issues management. The incumbent will also advise senior management on various issues and make recommendations.

Education
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Experience
• Experience in conducting research and analysis, preparing reports and briefing materials in order to provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management or internal stakeholders.
• Experience building relationships with various constituents/stakeholders (federal, provincial, or municipal governments, not-for-profit organizations or private sector).
• Experience in writing policies for the design of programs or services.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations to various internal and/or external stakeholder groups.
Asset Qualifications
• Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in economics, sociology, statistics, business/commerce, political science, public policy, mathematics or a related field.
Asset Experience:
• Experience in policy development
