📢 The incumbent is frequently required to adapt to changing priorities, multiple demands, imposed deadlines and interruptions when responding to emergency and/or routine daily problems, situations caused by weather or offender disturbances. 📢 The position necessitates working in an isolated area of a federal correctional facility. 📢 There is exposure to inclement weather when performing inspections; exposure to unpleasant sights and noxious odours from chemicals and by-products of the sewage treatment plant. 📢 There is a requirement to wear cumbersome and/or restrictive personal protective equipment to perform daily work activities. 📢 The work involves frequent daily exposure to confined/restricted spaces, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vibration and humidity. 📢 Daily use of hand and power tools, motorized cutting equipment and machinery on a daily basis and must therefore follow appropriate health and safety precautions.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possession of a valid Wastewater Treatment Operator Level II (or higher) certification as recognized by the British Columbia Ministry of the Environment OR equivalent certification from another province in Canada.
EXPERIENCE
Experience operating and maintaining a Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Experience in assessing and troubleshooting a variety of problems with complex mechanical, electrical, control and monitoring systems.
Experience in the ongoing maintenance and repair of equipment and related controls.
