Assessment accommodation

Duties

The GL-MAN-8 will be required to travel extensively with the RCMP Musical Ride during their 2025 tour and responsible for the care for up to 30 horses, including upkeep of temporary stabling, feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, handling horses, watching for signs of illness or injury, etc.

Intent of the process

The intent of the process is to fill a temporary position through a casual contract (up to 90 days).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

*Recent experience in equine husbandry
*Recent experience in the basic health and physical care of horses

*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Must be at least 18 years of age
Willing and able to travel anywhere in Canada for an extended period of time between the months of May and September, 2025 for either the majority or the entire tour
Willing and able to work shift work, involving a rotation of day and night shifts
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, be on standby, or adjust schedule with little or no notice to meet operational requirements
Willing and able to work overtime
Willing and able to work on weekends and statutory holidays
Willing and able to lift, carry and/or push heavy or awkward items, weighing up to twenty-five (25) kilograms
Possession of a valid unrestricted driver's license
Willing and able to drive a standard size vehicle
