About Us
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to identify qualified candidates for current and anticipatory staffing needs for positions across the Prairie Region.

Staffing needs include permanent, temporary (term) and casual (maximum 90 working days in a calendar year) employment opportunities.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
You must meet one of the following:
• Graduation with a degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in Canada.
• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work, law-related field or in any other field relevant to the work being performed.
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the use of various software programs such as: Excel, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Gmail, PowerPoint.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience providing library services.
• Experience working within an Education environment.
• Experience working in a correctional setting.
• Experience training and supervising workers.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy related to institutional libraries.
• Knowledge of library management.
• Knowledge of community organizations as it relates to provision of support for clients in areas such as social services, education, training or employment.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
