Your job application must clearly demonstrate that you meet all the pre-screening requirements in order to move on to the next step. Duties

Providing visitor service and information, revenue collection and daily cleaning/maintenance at campgrounds & day use areas to enhance the visitor experience. This includes but is not limited to:

• Greeting visitors and providing orientation, information and direction
• Confirming reservations and selling campsites
• Cleaning campground washrooms and other facilities on a daily basis
• Cleaning and maintaining campsites, grounds and picking litter
• Stacking and bagging firewood
• Emptying trash and recycling receptacles
• Participating in special events

Intent of the process

The results may be used in the future to fill other temporary student vacancies that may arise in the Banff Field Unit, in various locations, with full or part-time hours for various tenures, depending on status of the selected candidate.

Open to students currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary school in an accredited institution and/or those participating in adult education and retraining programs at the secondary level, operated under the authority of an accredited academic institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE IN:

• Providing information and service to the public
• Point of sale equipment operation, cash handling
• Cleaning washrooms and facilities in a commercial setting

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing and able to work weekends, irregular hours, overtime and/or statutory holidays
• Willing and able to work outdoors and be exposed to various weather conditions
• Willing and able to perform tasks such as: lifting heavy materials, picking litter, and site maintenance

Conditions of employment

• Successful completion and maintenance of reliability security clearance including fingerprints
• Willing and able to wear a Parks Canada uniform and/or safety equipment
