Education:
Graduated with a degree or technical diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in forestry techniques or other technical diploma related to the duties of the position. The absence of a technical diploma can be compensated for by a post-secondary diploma and 2 years' experience in a technical position.
Experience:
• Significant experience* of dendrometry or forest inventory measurements.
• Significant experience* in collecting, entering and compiling scientific data.
• Significant experience* in collecting, organizing and processing samples from forest environments.
• Experience in organizing and presenting analytical and statistical data in numerical, graphical and/or narrative form.
• Experience in the use of geographic information systems (GIS).
• Experience in preparing technical reports.
*Significant experience means experience for at least 1 year.

Asset Knowledge:
• Knowledge of forest botany.
• Knowledge of forest entomology.
• Knowledge of forest soil characterization.
Operational Requirements
• Available to travel to remote areas, work overtime, be absent for long periods, work atypical hours and in a variety of difficult environmental and climatic conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work with chemical or biological hazardous materials which are operational requirements of this position.
• Willingness and ability to lift and carry samples and equipment weighing up to 20 kg.
