This project is part of a larger project that aims to develop a framework for assessing the impact of disturbances on soil function and resilience. Agricultural soil metacommunities represent an excellent model system for testing the theory of metacommunities, as they include a variety of phylogenetically distant groups of organisms with different life cycles and dispersal potentials.
The master's student's work will focus on the study of the impact of agricultural practices on the recovery of soil metacommunities after disturbance.
1. Conditioning soil samples and performing DNA extractions;
2. Prepare libraries for sequencing on Promethion (Metabarcoding and Metagenomics Shotgun)
3. Analyze sequencing data
4. Participate in fieldwork
