Visitor Services Team Leads in Parks Canada places across the country play a critical operational role at day use areas, campgrounds and heritage sites. They supervise a passionate team who provide information and respond to visitor needs, and sell permits, passes and merchandise. The Visitor Services Team Lead participates in recruiting, onboarding and training staff, scheduling and other administrative tasks associated with human resources, troubleshooting system issues and addressing visitor queries and complaints. They work in a fast-paced environment and within a network of other leads and supervisors who support one another.

A Visitor Service Team Lead is energetic and positive as they motivate and inspire their team. They are organized and thorough in their administrative tasks, and most importantly, have excellent communication skills to facilitate relationships amongst colleagues and with visitors. They are also a team player as they actively contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace that values respect and equality.

Intent of the process

EDUCATION
A minimum 2 years of post-secondary education or acceptable combination of education, training, experience or traditional knowledge relevant to position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in planning and providing services to the public.
EX2: Experience supervising a team of employees (minimum 3 consecutive months within past 3 years)
