NRCan has transitioned to a hybrid work environment which offers employees the opportunity to telework and work from the designated work location, subject to operational requirements. This position will require an in-office presence for a minimum of three (3) days a week.
• Conducts research, analysis, development, testing and implementation of changes to the department/agency's software solutions and services
• Designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains software solutions on various technology platforms and supports quality assurance activities
• Produces programming or test specifications, writes new or modifies existing code and produces technical documentation such as user guides and related documentation
• Participates in the selection, installation, configuration, testing and development of software tools
• Provides technical advice, application assistance and delivers training sessions to internal and external clients
• Participates as a member on projects, leads short-term projects and/or reviews/monitors work of contractors
Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Office of Energy Efficiency leads Canadians to energy efficiency through policy guidance for the whole of government, both domestically and internationally, and through the delivery of major federal energy efficiency programs and incentives designed to increase awareness and further the advancement:
• of energy efficient technologies, products, codes, standards, and practices in the design and construction of new buildings and homes;
• in the industrial systems and processes of Canadian industries;
• in the design and promotion of energy efficient products and equipment; and
• in energy efficient labelling of products, new or existing construction and industrial facilities.

Education
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
