As the supervisor of the administrative team, you will be tasked with directly supervising up to five (5) subordinates, which includes assigning work, establishing and explaining work procedures, practices and processes, setting deadlines and priorities, evaluating performance and overseeing the development of members. This role includes planning, organizing, and monitoring the delivery of Occupational Health and Safety Services (OHSS), as well as providing administrative support services in one or more areas (such as finance, human resources and/or any other administrative functions) to the section.

The Occupational Health and Safety Services (OHSS) is seeking an Administrative Supervisor for its Medical Benefits and Services section. You will be part of a highly qualified multidisciplinary team whose mandate is to ensure that the organization has the resources required by offering various health and safety support services.
The intent of this process is to fill one (1) full-time, indeterminate position in Westmount (Quebec).
A pool of qualified candidates including Public Service Employees (PSE) and Civilian Members (CM) may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police “C” Division on a term (such as term employment, acting, assignment or secondment) or indeterminate basis.
Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category. EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE
Recent* and significant** experience in providing administrative services in the field of occupational health and safety.
Experience in the coordination and tracking/follow-up of budgets, spending, invoices and/or financial contracts.
Experience in preparing statistical reports.
Experience in supervising employees, including monitoring performance and assigning work.
Experience in using a variety of software such as Oracle and/or the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
* “Recent experience” means experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
** “Significant experience” is defined as experience of at least six (6) months of continuous work.

Experience in providing advice to managers and employees on the application of legislation and policies related to health and safety, return-to-work program or disability management program.
Experience in supporting a disability management program.
Experience in using a financial management system such as TEAM/SAP.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment and be exposed to unsettling and/or graphic material.
Willingness and ability to work overtime as required.
