Duties

Join our team at Parks Canada as we enhance and manage the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area (NMCA). We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill a newly created position that will play a pivotal role in the establishment and ongoing operations of this significant site.

In this role, you will support the NMCA by implementing agreements with government departments, stakeholders, and Indigenous leaders, ensuring collaborative and effective management. Additionally, you will lead the Contributions & Grants program, providing valuable analysis and advice on innovative strategies to achieve our Agency’s goals in partnership with stakeholders and collaborators.

This position will report to the Site Manager for Lake Superior NMCA and offers the flexibility of being based out of either Thunder Bay or Nipigon. If you are passionate about conservation and eager to contribute to meaningful partnerships, we encourage you to apply.

EDUCATION
Graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree or diploma in a field relevant to the duties of the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in managing complex files and strategic issues
• Experience consulting and collaborating with internal colleagues to achieve operational goals
• Experience in developing, analyzing or interpreting regulations, policies, guidelines, and/or tools
• Experience in liaising with senior management, other government departments or agencies, external stakeholders and members of the public
• Experience supporting working relationships and engagement processes with the public, stakeholder groups and/or Indigenous communities, including in the development, negotiation and management of partnering arrangements

ASSET EXPERIENCE
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with Lake Superior NMCA partners and stakeholders
