This process will be managed by the Treasury Board Secretariat and used by various federal government organizations across the country to staff their positions.
A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process will be created and will be used to fill similar positions with various linguistic profiles as well as tenures which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Education
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CT-IAU subgroup on September 28, 2023, who do not possess the minimum qualification prescribed above, are deemed to meet it by virtue of their education, training, and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum qualification standard, whenever this standard is required for staffing positions in the CT-IAU subgroup.
Experience
Stream A:
- Significant* experience* conducting an internal or external audit engagement or evaluation such as planning, examination or reporting.
Stream B:
- Significant* experience conducting audit/review activities, which can include any or all of the following activities: quality assurance, audit methodology, or risk-based audit and evaluation planning.
All streams:
- Significant* experience providing advice or recommendations to senior management**.
- Experience in leading teams, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and managing performance.
* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of a wide range of duties related to the subject activity and related activities for a period of at least three (3) years.
** Senior management is defined as Executive level (EX-01) and above, or senior executives in private or public sector organizations external to the Federal Public Service of Canada.

Education
Successful completion of one Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) exam.
Possession of a recognized professional designation/certification: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Audit Profession (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
Possession of a master’s degree in a field relevant to the work to be performed.
Experience
- Experience in one or more specialized or emerging areas of audit practice such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, information technology auditing or fraud detection.
- Experience presenting practice management products (e.g. risk-based audit plan, results of quality assessments) to senior management* of the audit function, defending internal audit strategies, findings, and recommendations to senior management*.
- Experience contributing to operational or strategic plans.
- Experience interpreting data gleaned from data extractions or data analysis software.
- Experience in managing human and financial resources.
*Senior management is defined as executive level (EX-01) and above, or senior executives in private or public sector organizations external to the Federal Public Service of Canada.
