Assessment accommodation

Global Affairs Canada will be following the direction from the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. Duties

EcoGAC
EcoGAC is recognized as a center of excellence for both the implementation of sustainable practices across the organization and for developing innovative adaptation and mitigation solutions to climate change. Our mission is to embed environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable practices into GAC's domestic operations, to employ the innovative solutions needed to address the triple threat of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss and to ensure that GAC contributes directly to Canada's net-zero emissions target.

Space Strategy and Business:
Our team is responsible for managing all activities related to office space in the National Capital Region (NCR) and regional offices for Global Affairs Canada. This includes handling requests for additional internal departmental space as well as external space requirements. We conduct space modification analyses and develop long-term space strategies. Additionally, we oversee all activities related to real property in the NCR.
We manage the deployment, service support, and maintenance of the reservation and booking system, Archibus, within the department.
Our responsibilities also include overseeing all signage activities, such as physical signage within our space envelope. We manage AutoCAD licenses and update our master plan drawings according to accommodation projects. Furthermore, we maintain an up-to-date space database.

Corporate Services and Projects:
Our team specializes in overseeing medium to large-scale accommodation, fit-up, relocation, and renovation projects. We prioritize client satisfaction and strive to create inclusive and adaptable workspaces tailored to their unique requirements. We collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that each project is aligned with organizational objectives and improves the functionality and accessibility of workspaces. Our approach integrates project management expertise to create collaborative, flexible and efficient environments that foster creativity and innovation.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff many positions on an indeterminate or temporary basis with various linguistic requirements (English or French Essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC) at the AS-03, AS-04, and AS-05 level. A pool of candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures and/or linguistic requirements within Global Affairs Canada.

-Experience working with AutoCAD
-Experience in the design and implementation of accommodation or facilities management projects.
-Experience in interpreting technical plans, design proposals or drawings.
-Experience in the planning, coordinating, monitoring, or delivery of projects in the environment, sustainable development, science, or energy fields.
-Experience in managing government real property activities.
-Experience in researching, evaluating, and analyzing strategic issues such as initiatives or projects related to policies, regulations, programs or operations.
-Experience in consulting and building relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of their current organization.
-Experience contributing to the development of data collection methodologies and tools.

► Asset Competency:
-Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings.
