The duties of this position include but are not limited to :
• Performs maintenance and preventative maintenance inspections, interprets/determines work requirements through reading and interpreting blueprints, plans and drawings, consulting clients and inspecting work sites. Provides supervisor with labor and material estimates and work/time activity reports.
• Fabricates, erects, installs, repairs, refinishes, modifies and maintains wood and related structures including: existing wood and building structures, small buildings, targets, shipping crates, storage containers, boxes for the storage and shipment of military equipment, furniture, cabinets and shelving systems.
• Operates and maintains a variety of hand and power tools and machinery.
• Constructs and erects wood and metal forms for concrete work.
• Coordinates carpentry work with other trades, as required.
• Orders supplies using an acquisition card, inputs work order information and tracks work orders using a computer. Uses a vehicle.

COE1: Must possess and maintain a Red Seal Certification
COE2: Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Class “G” driver’s licence issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial/territorial equivalent

COE4: Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Departmental driver’s license (DND 404).
COE5: Must be capable of heavy lifting up to 50lbs.
COE6: Must be willing to wear and/or utilize Personal Protective Equipment in compliance with safety regulations.

COE9: Willing and able to work outdoors, in confined spaces and in hot or cold environments
