NRCan has transitioned to a hybrid work environment which offers employees the opportunity to telework and work from the designated work location, subject to operational requirements. This position will require an in-office presence for a minimum of three (3) days a week.
The Pacific Forestry Centre (PFC) in Victoria BC, hosts researchers that examine topics such as wildfire, forest insects and diseases, forest genetics, climate change, economics, ecology, silviculture, wood quality, and forest inventories. Additionally, programs are delivered from PFC that include Federal land forest management and G&Cs. This position is intended to support the work of the Federal Lands Group on forested federal properties in the Pacific Region, with a focus on protecting species at risk and controlling invasive plants. Assistance with other research or programs at PFC may also be required.
The intent of this process is to staff one 2-year term position.
A pool of qualified candidates will be created. If you qualify, but are not appointed to this position, you may be considered for identical or similar positions in the future within Natural Resources Canada, with various terms of employment, language requirements, linguistic requirements and profiles, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations.
