Duties

๐Ÿ“ธ Join us for an exciting opportunity in archaeology! As our Archaeological Technician based in the heart of downtown Calgary at the Harry Hays Building, youโ€™ll play a crucial role in supporting seven project archaeologists across Alberta and British Columbia. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing concurrent requests in collaboration with your supervisor, analyzing and cataloguing artifacts in our Terrestrial Archaeology Lab, and photographing them for our electronic database. Youโ€™ll also be responsible for preparing artifacts for long-term storage.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Occasional fieldwork in the stunning Mountain Parks (including Banff, Jasper, Yoho, and Kootenay National Parks) awaits, along with potential opportunities in other parks and protected areas in Western Canada. Additionally, youโ€™ll have the chance to assist with accessioning archaeological site data and cataloguing photographs, contributing to our ongoing efforts in preserving and understanding our cultural heritage. - Graduation with a bachelorโ€™s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology with a minimum of three (3) completed courses in Archaeology
OR an acceptable combination of education, training, experience and/or traditional knowledge.

Degree equivalency

- Practical experience in archaeological field work
- Experience in archaeological lab projects
