The New Brunswick South Field unit operates a range of water and sewer treatment and distribution systems in Fundy National Park. This includes a centralized water treatment plant (Class 3), utilizing a conventional coagulation/clarification/filtration process, and a distribution system serving multiple discrete areas connected via booster pumps, transmission mains, and storage reservoirs. Additionally, the park operates smaller systems, such as small groundwater systems, a sewage lagoon, multiple on-site sewage systems, and sewage distribution systems.
As a Water/Wastewater System Technical Service Officer, your duties will encompass planning, organizing, and leading water/wastewater services, including maintenance, repairs, and operations. This extends to overseeing pool water system operations, maintaining facilities and building plumbing systems. Responsibilities also include completing field unit water/wastewater program design, delivery, and implementation.
This involves tasks like systems selection and installation, field unit-wide water/wastewater testing, analysis, and reporting as well as system and equipment maintenance. The role involves leading and coordinating good procurement and service contracts specific to the field unit water/wastewater systems and facilities and buildings' plumbing systems.
Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for supervising personnel engaged in tasks related to the position, typically including a plumber and a semi-skilled worker.
