In your role, you will lead a diverse team of technical specialists and maintenance groups, who will work to achieve Parks Canada’s top priorities. You will manage and maintain the assets necessary to provide world-class visitor experience, including the upkeep and oversight of essential assets such as historic buildings and grounds, trails, visitor areas, campgrounds and more. You will also be responsible for a series of townsite utility assets including a water treatment plant, wastewater facility, power distribution network, and a highway corridor and road networks.
You will lead by example and help build and sustain a positive, inclusive, healthy, respectful and productive work culture. This position requires strong experience in the construction field or asset management, as well as good technical expertise, both in terms of analysis and in its verbalization to different audiences.
The position also requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate. In addition to managing the human resources of your team, you will have to communicate regularly with other Parks Canada employees, senior managers, Indigenous groups, contractors, consultants, stakeholders and external groups.

ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in civil engineering or other engineering discipline relevant to the duties of the position. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may also be considered.
E1: Recent experience in planning and implementing asset management programs for a small to medium sized organization.
E2: Recent experience in planning, managing and successfully delivering multi-disciplinary capital projects or programs.
E3: Recent experience in managing human resources including establishing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, overseeing technical specialists, consultants, and contractors.
E4: Experience in managing financial resources, preparing service contracts, construction tender packages including the development of technical documents such as requests for proposals and statements of work.
E5: Experience in effectively working with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
*Recent experience is defined as experience gained in the past 5 years.
K1: Knowledge of principles and theories associated with asset management, maintenance and investment analysis in support of long-term capital planning.
