The Water/Wastewater Plant/Facility Manager manages a water and wastewater program, facilities and services including collection, treatment, distribution and disposal; manages associated systems and infrastructure maintenance; delivers technical and operational advice and consultative services. Plants/facilities managed are level 1 wastewater, level 3 water treatment and level 2 water distribution in the community of Waskesiu Lake, SK.
Other duties/ responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
• Managing and Supervising and water/wastewater operations, including maintenance and repair;
• Leading data monitoring and analysis/interpretation, technical inspections, equipment and instrumentation calibrations and adjustments, and corrective measures;
• Consulting on/discussing technical plans and strategies for corrective actions;
• Preparing inputs for annual operating and capital plans and budgets; developing work plans and operational schedules;
• Responding to client/stakeholder enquiries/complaints and advising on operations and activities (e.g. service interruptions);
• Overseeing minor project work and contracted services;
• Developing/modifying standard operating procedures for water/wastewater treatment equipment and processes.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of post-secondary school education relevant to the position or Public Service Commission approved alternatives, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Occupational Certification
• Level 3 certification for water treatment and Level 2 certification for water distribution.
Proof of education/certification will be required at the time of the interview.
EXPERIENCE:
• Recent experience in managing the implementation of medium-sized projects including managing contracts, monitoring, reporting and performance evaluation;
• Recent experience in operation of a Class 2 or Class 3 water treatment plant, including sampling, analysis, system adjustment and associated machinery;
• Experience in a supervisory capacity, including responsibilities such as: supervision of staff, preparation and presentation of reports and plans (such as financial budgets, work schedules, performance management etc.).

• A Parks Canada Agency uniform, as prescribed for the position, must be worn at all times while performing the duties of the position unless otherwise specifically directed by the Superintendent.
• Must be prepared to work weekends, shift work, overtime and statutory holidays as scheduled.
• Must wear safety equipment as identified by Supervisor.
• Perform physical tasks as per the job requirements.
• Must be willing to complete any training that pertains to the job.
