The Law Enforcement Branch includes a cadre of professional and highly trained park wardens who are peace officers within the meaning of the Criminal Code, who are responsible for enforcing legislation in support of the Agency’s mandate to protect natural and cultural resources and to provide quality visitor experiences.
As Manager, Law Enforcement Operations, you will be responsible for:
• managing the delivery of law enforcement services to parks in one of the regions that covers
multiples provinces.
• managing a team of park wardens working throughout this region.
• collaborating with park managers to develop agreements that outline the nature and scope of the
law enforcement services that will be provided by park wardens. You will lead the implementation
of these agreements by planning and coordinating the delivery of said services.
• maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders including other law enforcement
organizations.
• overseeing the development and implementation of operational plans to deliver ongoing law
enforcement services and for responding to major critical events.
• providing functional leadership in support of Parks Canada’s goals and objectives, and you will
provide advice to management regarding operational needs and challenges. You will contribute
to the development and delivery of national programs and policies by participating in working
groups and consultative processes in various capacities.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training, and experience.
EXPERIENCES:
• Experience working in a law enforcement environment.
• Significant* experience in maintaining collaborative relationships and building consensus with multiple internal and external partners.
• Significant* experience providing strategic advice to management on complex and sensitive situations.
• Experience supervising Human Resources and managing operational budget.
Significant is defined as having performed complex activities related to this task in a variety of situations. This experience is normally gained through three (3) years or more of relevant experience.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES:
• Experience developing partnerships working closely with indigenous groups.
• Experience developing partnerships with restaurative justice programs.
• Experience contributing to the development of regional or national standards, guidelines, or
policies.
• Experience supervising staff across multiple provinces.
