Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
The Mainland Nova Scotia Field Unit includes the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, Kejimkujik National Park & National Historic Site, Fort Anne National Historic Site, Port-Royal National Historic Site, and Sable Island National Park Reserve.

EDUCATION:
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in communications, public relations, journalism, education, business administration or other discipline relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Significant* experience in program management including strategic planning, program monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
EX2: Significant* experience in developing and managing relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders and partners.
EX3: Significant* experience in the development, delivery and management of strategies and programs in two of the following four fields:
• Stakeholder and partner engagement;
• Public outreach education;
• Tourism and promotions; and
• Communications and public relations.
EX4: Experience in issues management including providing support, briefings and expert advice to senior management on strategic directions, sensitive external relations issues, priorities and policy positions with respect to external relations.

• May be required to obtain a secret security clearance for Acting Superintendent assignments.
