About the position

Duties
Registry Officers and Liaison Officers are appeal process experts that support tribunal members and parties.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Receiving and filing documents, entering data and updating case files in a case management system
• Responding to enquiries about the process over the phone and in writing
• Reviewing documents and identifying important information for the process
• Managing a heavy workload and in a fast-paced environment
• Working effectively with the public, tribunal members, lawyers, litigants, and other registry staff
• Scheduling hearings, booking interpreters and hearing rooms, and ensuring they run smoothly
• In some cases, attending hearings across Canada, virtually or in-person
Intent of the process
The intent of the process is to staff a minimum of 6 positions on a term and/or permanent basis. Candidates who hold a substantive position at the PM-02 group and level, or an equivalent level, may be considered first.
A partially qualified pool will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements, classifications, tenures, locations, or security level. The pool will be primarily used to staff positions within the ATSSC but could be used by all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA). EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives or equivalent. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
