About the position

Duties
Detachment Services Assistants provide administrative and operational support to police members and others at the detachment. They also provide assistance and information to the public.
Work environment
Sundre is a beautiful rural farming community situated near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, approximately an hour from Calgary and Red Deer, and less than a half-hour west of Olds.
The detachment provides service to the communities of Sundre, Bearberry, James River, Bergen, Harmattan, Eagle Hill, Burnstick Lake, Mountain View County and Clearwater County.
Intent of the process
The process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis in Sundre (Alberta). A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Southern Alberta District.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

• Possession of a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license

Operational Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work in a policing environment where exposure to sensitive or distressing investigative material may occur
• Willingness and ability to work overtime
• Willingness and ability to travel

• Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

• Experience providing service to internal or external clients, via telephone, in-person or by e-mail
• Training and/or experience in the provision of financial support services
