This position is located at the Bells Corners Complex, situated within Ottawa’s Greenbelt, yet close to restaurants and shopping within the area of Bells Corners. Situated between Nepean and Kanata, we are close to the Bayshore bus station as well as the Eagleson/Terry Fox Park and Ride with bus access to the Complex. This location also features trails and walking paths as well as workplace wellness programs including running, fitness and mental health initiatives to boost employee morale and work/life balance.

Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff two 1-year determinate position located in Bells Corners, Ottawa, Ontario.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Operational Requirements

Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to occasionally work overtime.
• Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts including nights, evenings, weekends and designated holidays.
• Willingness and ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Willingness and ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
• Must be able and willing to stand while performing certain procedures for portions of the day.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or

Experience:
1. Experience performing basic engineering related tasks in a research or industrial setting (experience acquired within a relevant diploma program will also be accepted).
