About the position

Duties
↪ Ensure the quality, integrity, validation, and maintenance of spatial data within DND’s Real Property Spatial Data Warehouse (RPSDW), including support for data acquisition, data registry management, and associated spatial data assets
↪ Support the development and maintenance of Real Property spatial technical standards, user guides, training materials, and reference documentation
↪ Provide direct spatial information services and support to DND Real Property stakeholders, including mentoring and guidance on spatial applications whether customized or commercial off-the-shelf

🏢 In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, the Department of National Defence has adopted a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 4 days each week, or 80% of their regular schedule. Some positions may require full-time on-site presence.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff four (4) positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

▶ Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a geomatics-related technology field, such as, but not limited to:
↪ Building Information Modelling (BIM) Technology
↪ Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technology
↪ Architectural Technology
↪ Civil Engineering Technology
↪ Or another specialty relevant to the position being staffed
An acceptable combination* of education, training, and/or work experience may also be considered.
*Acceptable combination is defined as completion of secondary school and ten (10) years' work experience in a related field.

EXPERIENCE
▶ Experience creating and editing AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) spatial information (including geospatial and built‑environment data)
▶ Experience using spatial software suites (such as GIS - Geographic Information System, CAD - Computer Aided Design, BIM - Building Information Modeling, CAFM - Computer-Aided Facility Management, etc.)
▶ Experience performing Quality Assurance on externally generated data (from projects or third parties) using commonly used spatial data applications
▶ Experience maintaining master asset records and data as an enterprise resource
▶ Experience applying industry-adopted/recognized open geospatial standards
