About the position
Work environment
If you appreciate a closeknit small-town, Tofield is the place for you. The RCMP Detachment is presently being reconstructed, and the RCMP staff are temporarily working out of a small trailer. If you enjoy friendly people, quiet streets and are up for a challenge, apply to join our team today.
Intent of the process
This process will initially be used to staff one position on a temporary basis, and create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.
NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Operational Requirements
Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*
*Proof of education will be required prior to appointment

Ex1 - Experience in providing administrative support services*
*Administrative support services can include: coordinating and scheduling appointments, meetings and teleconferences; assisting with arranging travel and accommodations; preparing, transcribing and processing a variety of correspondence, reports and documentation; preparing and distributing mail; providing reception services, referring callers and visitors to the appropriate areas, conducting photocopying/scanning activities, maintain office equipment, etc.
Ex2- Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Ex3 - Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel

AE1- Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages and bail hearing packages.
AE2- Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC)
AE3- Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices
