About the position

Intent of the process
This is an anticipatory staffing process with an intent to staff one (1) permanent full-time position and one (1) full-time 3-year term position. These positions are located at a hangar by the Edmonton International Airport.
A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term or acting basis. The pool could be used to staff assignments, secondments, deployments, or casual opportunities.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Conditions of employment

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.
Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.

Operational Requirements

Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).

Experience working with clients to solve problems and recommend solutions
Experience in interpreting and applying legislation or policies or directives
Experience organizing and coordinating events or projects.
Experience in the provision of administrative services including:
• tracking expenses, including financial forecasting and reporting
• using word processing (e.g. MS Word)
• using spreadsheets (e.g MS Excel)
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Applied / assessed at a later date
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to analyze information and provide recommendations
Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Working effectively with others
Showing initiative and being action-oriented

Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management Information System (e.g. HRMIS, PeopleSoft).
Experience in procurement practices and procedures in a government setting.
