The Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre aims to pursue excellence by leveraging innovation, technologies and partnerships to professionalize training at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels in support of the strategic priorities provided from higher command. The school’s mission is to deliver relevant, effective, and modernized training in order to produce well disciplined, technically sound, and operationally focussed non-commissioned members, officers, and civilian defence partners with a view to enable operational success.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill two (2) positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Borden, Ontario.
🔷This is an inventory process, and candidates will be assessed continuously during this period. Apply early to be considered for immediate vacancies.
🔷Please note that candidates will only be assessed once, and re-applications to the inventory will not be considered.
🔷A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.

COE1. Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
COE2. Possession of a valid unrestricted Class 3 (DZ in Ontario) OR Class 1 (Class A in Ontario) Driver’s License with air brake endorsement valid in the province of work. Note: Restriction number one (glasses) is not applicable.
COE3. Provide an acceptable* driver's abstract to show evidence of a satisfactory and safe driving record for the last 3 years provided within 30 days of request, dated no earlier than 30 days prior to the request.
*Acceptable as determined by management.
COE4. Must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a valid departmental driver’s license (DND 404).
COE5. Must be willing and able to safely perform a variety of physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 30 kg, climbing ladders, working on uneven surfaces, and sitting for periods of 4-5 hours on a daily basis.
COE6. Must be willing and able to travel within the Province of Quebec and Ontario and across Canada.
COE7. Must fulfil the role of a Driving Instructor or Examiner on Civilian and Military vehicle platforms as required.
COE8. Holder of a valid class 1 (Class A in Ontario) or class 3 (DZ in Ontario) driver’s license must consent and be willing to have a medical examination, as necessary.

Operational Requirements

AED2. Vocational diploma in heavy equipment operation or the equivalent from any province.
AED3. Professional truck driving diploma or the equivalent from any province.
AED4. Completion of a driving instructor training program from an accredited institution.

AEX1. Experience in one or more of the following:
• Commercial Cargo Vehicle Operation;
• Passenger Carrying vehicles with a capacity over 40 persons (i.e. bus);
• Material Handling Equipment (i.e. 6,000 lbs Forklift or greater); and
• Effective Air Brake Operation.
AEX2. Experience in training personnel.
AEX3. Experience performing operator inspections and daily maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment.
AEX4. Experience in maintaining driver logs, defect sheets and other applicable documentation.
AEX5. Experience utilizing the Department of National Defence (DND) Software, Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), Monitor Mass, Military Command Software (MCS) data.
AEX6. Experience loading and unloading cargo.
AEX7. Experience in performing general office tasks, such as utilizing Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook or Systems Applications and Products (SAP) based systems.
AEX8. Experience working or volunteering in a mixed military and civilian environment.
