About the position

Duties
The incumbent leads and manages projects in the field of electronic security systems to ensure efficient, timely and effective delivery of electronic security systems in grouped establishments in one or many regions across Canada. This includes overseeing the design, installation, and integration of electronic security systems. The incumbent ensures proper coordination of infrastructure requirements, such as cabling, electronic wiring, and other components, while managing stakeholder collaboration and ensuring compliance with operational standards and policies.
Work environment
The Electronic Security Systems Branch of Correctional Service Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment where the mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of systems and equipment in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters and community correctional centers located throughout Canada. The systems we manage are diverse such as uninterruptible power supply, movement and fences detection systems, closed-circuit television systems, door controls, alarms, radios, access, etc.
Intent of the process
This selection process will be used to create a pool of essentially qualified candidates to staff future vacancies in similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis within the Electronic Security Systems Directorate.

· Willingness and ability to visit and inspect work in correctional institutions.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
EDUCATION :
· A secondary school diploma AND completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

EXPERIENCE :
· Significant* experience in planning, developing and implementing projects related to infrastructure or equipment for large facilities**
· Experience in managing professional contract services such as, but not limited to contractors, consultants, engineers, or technicians
· Experience with financial management including budget planning, tracking and forecasting activities
· Experience to provide advice, guidance and to formulate recommendations to support decision-making in project management
* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex inter-related activities and the performance of these duties for a period of approximately 12 months on a full time basis within the last five years.
** Large facility is defined as a building and grounds which are similar in size to a correctional institution, hospital, airport, shopping mall, college campus or factory.

· Experience working in a correctional facility
· Experience working on infrastructure projects in a Federal or Provincial Government Department
* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex inter-related activities and the performance of these duties for a period of approximately 12 months on a full time basis within the last five years.
***Electronic Security Systems encompass, but are not limited to : uninterruptible power supplies, movement and fence detection systems, closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, door controls, alarms, radios, and access systems. These systems include their installation, integration, and maintenance, along with the supporting infrastructure such as cabling, electronic wiring, and other essential components.
