About the position

Intent of the process
This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates. The pool may be used to staff similar indeterminate, term or acting positions with various security requirements and tenures, which may vary accordingly to the position being staffed.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance. Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
Willingness and ability to work overtime, if required.
Willingness and ability to travel for work or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s licence or have personal mobility to the degree normally associated with a driver's licence.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Experience in the provision of administrative support services including two of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail
Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.
Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving and/or destroying data.

Experience in providing administrative support services in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).
Experience providing financial support services (services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.).
Experience in preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports.
Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management Information System (E.g. HRMIS, PeopleSoft)
Experience providing administrative services; including but not limited to booking facilities, obtaining quotes.
Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages.
