About the position

Duties
📢The facilities management and technical services team, composed of employees from various trades, is responsible for the maintenance, repair and replacement of physical assets, systems and related equipment, including roads, land, buildings and associated infrastructures, in approximately 1,850 buildings and across more than 6,200 hectares of land managed by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) nationwide.
➨ Position Title: General Maintenance Worker
𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒: The role involves providing general maintenance (corrective and preventive), construction work and, in some institutions, minor service of vehicles. This can embrace a range of specific tasks, including providing basic services as a relief officer for maintenance shops, labor, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal, welding, paint, masonry, service plant, composter and garage (which are considered maintenance activities or part of the maintenance shop) for a CSC institution. A key aspect of the role is training offender to support their employability and rehabilitation.
